I have to tell you about the best dream ever. I'm not talking about a warm, fuzzy, waking up to rainbows and unicorns sort of great dream. I'm talking about a colossal, life-changing, world domination, I can conquer anything kind of dream.

Look out Star Wars, I, Linda Alms, humble children's writer, learned how to single-handedly defeat Darth Vader.

It all happened at the elementary school where I used to work. Vader was hunting me down like a wild animal. There was probably an epic, ominous soundtrack playing in the background. He tracked me down the hallway and into the cafeteria, where he started using the Force to upend the tables and chairs. Luckily, I was hiding behind one that was next to the farthest door. In the chaos of flying debris, I was able to sneak out and barricade myself in my classroom.

I quickly surveyed the school supplies for anything that would be of use, and spied the one item that could give me a glimmer of hope. I ducked behind the desk and prepared.

All too soon I heard the signature mechanical breathing coming toward me. When he was almost upon me, I sucked in a deep breath. As the desk moved aside, I stood up... and blew a handful of glitter straight into the ventilator on his mask. He choked to death in a matter of seconds.

I knew there had to be some redeeming quality to that nasty stuff.

So now, whenever I face a challenge in life, I just remember that if I can defeat the evil Empire, I can do just about anything.

Have you ever had an epic dream?
