Green

Forest, hunter, evergreen, pine,

those are particular favorites of mine.

Kelly, shamrock, emerald, jade,

every one a lovely shade.

Sage, mint, basil, lime,

make me hungry all the time.

Ivy, moss, fern, and spruce,

nature hues set my spirit loose.

Olive, army, seaweed, pea

have their place, but they're not really me.

I must protest the overuse

of that hideous shade, chartreuse.

From grasslands to gardens to forests serene,

I tip my hat to the color green.
